For reviews complaining about their bench being “wobbly” or “shaky”, I doubt they have put benches or anything not from IKEA together before. ***It is not said in the directions, but when tightening the screws, you will need to use a wrench or pliers to hold the opposite side nuts.Once you do that, this bench “magically” becomes sturdy. Weird stuff……If you have half a brain, you can figure it out.The bench itself is great, is sturdy (when assembled properly, and can withstand me and my pair of 30 lbs dumbbells – roughly 260 pounds altogether. It is also light and easy to move or lean up against the wall. Overall, the quality of the bench is also a bargain for the price that Amazon sells it for – NOT the 3rd parties. I picked up this bench for $60, so if you can wait for it to be in stock from Amazon, delayed gratification will help. Otherwise, you may get it for $100+ dollars, and you might as well get a $120-$150 bench at that point.Definitely pleased with this bench, but I can see where the directions might be confusing for some.

This unit is sturdy for this price. I am 230 lbs and can work out with more than 100 pounds without any issue. There are reviews saying that it is not sturdy or loose after assembly. You *must* tighten all fasteners. The nylon lock nuts will require 1/2 inch wrench and 3/4 inch wrench. Phillips screwdriver required to fasten the seat and backrest. If you are not familiar with nylon lock nuts, they are are a special kind of nut that is designed not to rattle or vibrate loose over time. That also means that it takes a fair amount of torque to wrench them on.

While I won’t call this workout bench sturdy, it does the job I expect it to do in this price range. It looks good enough and holds my 230#s while I do sit-ups. The adjusting back rest has three positions that allow me to work the different muscle groups effectively. I recommend it as a low end workout bench. It provides value for the dollar.
